Here are the best upcoming Garner & Clayton holiday events.
Clayton Christmas Village & Tree Lighting
Every year on the first Thursday after Thanksgiving (Nov 29 this year), Downtown Clayton fills with residents and visitors alike for the Christmas Village & Tree Lighting. From 5:30 to 7:30pm, enjoy music and refreshments as part of a Downtown Business Open House. Then, at 7:45, follow Santa and Mrs. Claus in their horse-drawn carriage to Town Square for the traditional Tree Lighting at 8:00pm.
Light Up Main
Did make the Clayton tree lighting? Try again in Garner! On November 30, head to Downtown Garner at 6pm for another traditional Tree Lighting… then stick around between 6 and 8pm for food, face painting and crafts, live music and entertainment, and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Garner Christmas Parade
Complete the holiday-themed weekend with a Christmas Parade! On Saturday, December 1, head to Downtown Garner at 2pm to enjoy a bustling parade filled with marching bands, floats, classic cars, and more. The parade marches along Main Street, and word on the street is, Santa will be making an appearance, too.
Clayton Christmas Parade
The holiday spirit continues the following weekend with the Downtown Clayton Christmas Parade on December 8. Head to Main Street at 3pm (or earlier) to enjoy a fun small-town Christmas Parade complete with colorful floats, a marching band, and Santa Claus.
Meadow Lights
Just outside of Clayton and Garner, in neighboring Benson, The Old Country Store offers the largest Christmas light show, Meadow Lights, in Eastern North Carolina! This family-owned business has been offering old-fashioned candy for over 40 years, and come mid-November, they decorate over 30 acres with beautiful holiday lights. There’s also a train ride, a carousel, and photos with Santa!
The light show runs from November 16 through December 31, Sunday through Thursday 5 to 10pm and Friday and Saturday 5 to 11pm.
